discovering the Past and present along the klondike corridor

Friends of the Klondike Corridor Group as a non-profit Yukon society is excited to receive support from the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) to fund a project aimed at promoting tourism and bringing visitors back to the Yukon. With this project we will create a YouTube series highlighting both the historical Klondike gold rush stories and the current tourism attractions and services throughout the Yukon, and in Skagway and Seattle.

All business and residents are invited to participate - share your story on YouTube - promote your products and services to visitors. Please join us in sharing the story of risk, adventure and reward.

Join our time traveller hero, Tin Cup Kelly, as he explores the stories of past characters and encounters today’s amazing Klondike experiences. Our goal is to create an on-going series, as he travels along the Klondike Corridor transporting viewers and future tourists from Seattle to Skagway, from Whitehorse to Dawson City, and into the hinterlands beyond. Each episode will highlight a current business or tourist attraction in the Klondike Corridor while telling a historical story which references specific characters, events, or details such things as food, transportation and entertainment of the time. This will create a vibrant “Then and Now” experience which will invigorate audience growth.

We hope to feature as many businesses and sites as possible on this journey as we inspire exploration and visitation of the wondrous Gold Rush Territory. Utilizing the theme of “Driven by Dreams,” the stories we tell will possess a positive and upbeat feel, showcasing the great rewards sought by the stampeders and the great rewards of visiting the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and the Yukon – the Klondike Corridor today. Your business is welcome to participate.
