Ice Cream Making
Jr. Ranger Day 2024
Another fun year of teaching children how to make ice cream like they did in 1898! We joined several other inter-active booths for new Jr. Rangers to explore and learn. A bit chilly - but fun for all ages.
Recipe:
In an 8 oz metal container (must have a screw top, no leaking, with lid), pour in 1/2 cup of half & half.
Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla. Seal the lid.
Put the container into a ziplock gallon bag. Add 1/3 cup of rock salt and cover with ice. Seal the bag and put it into a coffee-sized can with lid.
Shake, rattle, and rock for 10 minutes!
Remove the container. Rinse or wipe off to remove the salt.
Open and add cookie chunks, sprinkles, etc.
Enjoy!
Many thanks to all who donated to the cause - we raised almost $100.
